Biography

Mr. Rowe is a principal at NOR Solution and has 39 years of experience in the drinking water industry, including serving as the senior vice president of American Water Works Company (American Water) and president of its subsidiary, Kentucky American Water from 2011 until his retirement in 2022. During his tenure at American Water, he held multiple executive leadership roles focused on operations and long-term value creation. Mr. Rowe also has extensive water utility experience in customer service, regulatory compliance, and local stakeholder relationships. Mr. Rowe joined American Water in 1981 as a senior resident engineer. He held positions of manager eastern operations, vice president service delivery – operations southeast region, and senior vice president eastern division, and president Kentucky American and senior vice president. Mr. Rowe previously served as board chair of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, past chair of the Kentucky Governor’s Higher Education Nominating Committee, he served on the boards of Lexington Clinic and First Security Bank. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering; he also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. In addition, he completed the Thames Water Oxford Leadership and RWE International Leadership programs.
